I have a plan that to take Web Application Programming will be a good course of action for me. I will gain some tips on enhancing my web sites with some Web 2.0 widgets.

Hi Net Tuesday Crew,
Thanks to everyone who came to last week's Net Tuesday and to our incredible speakers!

We're unsure of when they'll reopen, and are currently looking for a temporary venue to host Seattle Net Tuesday. If you know of a great bar with some A/V equipment, let us know! However, you can celebrate McLeod with us October 18th…

Hi All,
I'm at N2Y3 the Net Squared conference in San Jose, CA. They've got 21 featured projects which are being voted on to receive grants.
In a conversation with a friend this morning, we started thinking about how there were few ways for us to "kick the tires" on these projects and see if they're really as robust/unique/useful, etc. as they say they are. I thought I'd put these organizations in front of you--the smart people at Seattle Net Tuesday--and get your thoughts and opinions on thes…

Do you have an idea for a website or web app that will help raise social awareness, inspire social change, or otherwise make the world a better place? Maybe you have an idea for a Facebook application that issues environmental action alerts, a social network that helps connect those who suffer from Parkinson's, or possibly even a Firefox add-on that helps nonprofits fundraise? Whatever your idea, if y…

Hi Everyone,
Sorry for the cancellation, but Stephen and I realized that while we'd had a good response for this event and had lined up some really good speakers, we thought it'd be best to give ourselves a bit more time to work on it. We want to make sure we have a strong turn out from those with programming opportunities for developers, and that requires a bit more time.
So, the next Net Tuesday will be on May 20th, 2008. Same venue, same time (McLeod Residence, doors open at 6:30pm).
We ha…

We're having our first code meetup in Seattle. This is the first in what will hopefully be a monthly series on open source code development and the NewsCloud platform.
At the first session, we'll be talking about LAMP-based open source development tools and the open source Facebook Application Newsroom framework. If you're interested in learning more about Facebook application development, this will be a great introductory session.
I recommend that you have basic PHP/MySQL skills to get the mo…
