This month, we have two dynamite speakers that will talk about their organizations' efforts in volunteer outreach and building volunteer networks via the Internet and social media.
Sean DeButts is the Social Media Coordinator at the
Puget Sound Blood Center where they've started a new Virtual Blood Drive program. Sean will tell us how this program will augment the donations they receive throughout Western Washington, and educate us in ways in which we can engage with PSBC as social media organizers ourselves.
Tara Smith is Associate Director at
Seattle Works, a Seattle-area nonprofit that connects and inspires people in their 20s and 30s to take action in our community. Tara will talk about the incredible efforts that Seattle Works has made to bring together hundreds of volunteers for causes around the area, and their plans for expanding into new media.
Bring friends, geeks, inner children and stories to share. As always, the awesome Sole Repair will have a cash bar and plenty of room to mill around and network in.
If you would like your organization's information showing on our rotating slideshow during meet-and-greet, please email them to the Net Tuesday organizers -- Jessica (famerjessica at gmail.com), Sameer (siruguri at gmail.com) or Sarah (sarahschacht at mac.com).
See you on the 25th!
Your friendly Seattle Net Tuesday organizers.
